Limestone Township
Library District Has Homeschooling Needs
Homeschooling can be
challenging. You are covering so many topics and may not have enough of your
own resources to teach all that you want to do. That is when the library can be
your best partner.
At Limestone Township
Library District, it is possible to find a mountain of resources whether it is
at our building or from one of the 130 member libraries within our consortium.
Some of the resources we
have include a curriculum section of books in various subjects that include
lesson plans and worksheets. We also have Discovery Tote Boxes in various
subjects that have books and several activities for that subject area, such as
magnets, Africa, and painting.
Our shelves contain
educational games and learning kits to help kids learn more about different
subjects, including geography and natural sciences. We even have a set of
binoculars and a microscope patrons can check out. Let us help you expand your
resource base.
The process for getting a card is simple. Stop in with your
Driver’s license or State ID and a piece of mail to verify your address.
Persons under the age of 18 will need a parent’s signature. If you live outside
of Limestone Township but not in another library district (such as Fossil Ridge
or Kankakee), you may need to pay a non-resident fee.
Storytime takes place every
Wednesday at 10:15 A.M. with Mr. William reading a picture book or two and
leading us through a fun craft matching the theme of the book.
Come for fun on Thursday, September 7 from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. for our Family Video Game Party. We will have on hand Super Smash Bothers Ultimate, Mario Kart and Guitar Hero. Feel free to bring your own Nintendo Switch and joycons! Snacks will be provided.
Join us for Puppet Storytime Theater on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 A.M. in person with Mr. William and Ms. Holly performing a fun story with our collection of puppets in our puppet theater! Come for the story, stay for the craft afterwards.
