Lucky the Library Dragon Visits Limestone Township Library District
It is not often that a dragon comes to visit a
library. Some of us would even say it could be tricky considering the
fire-breathing aspect.
On Saturday, June 15 at 12:30 P.M., Lucky the Library
Dragon is coming in to do a story time session and will listen to each child
read a story to our resident dragon. There will be crafts and sensory
activities to do while waiting for each child’s turn to read to Lucky. Open to
all ages.
When you register, make sure to sign up for any
program that fits your child or yourself. We plan to have a busy summer making
crafts, visiting with people, exploring nature, and having a Medieval Faire on
June 22.

Here are some of our upcoming programs. Please
register ahead of time so we can have enough supplies for everyone:
Story Time starts on June 12 at 10:15 A.M. with
LTFPD Fire Chief Ryan Bell as he reads a favorite story. Craft time will
follow. This program is for preschoolers and kindergartners and their family
members.
Kids in 2nd through 8th grade
are invited to attend a Faerie Garden work shop on Wednesday, June 12 at 1:00
P.M. Using a shallow pan, some succulents, and a few decorative pieces, kids
can create their own faerie garden. There is no fee for this program, all
supplies are included.
We are having an Herb Garden Presentation on
Thursday, June 13 at 6:30 P.M. Teens and Adults are invited to learn more about
the common kitchen herbs you might use and how to care for them. Informational
handouts along with recipes will be given out.
Friday Take and Make kits will start off the summer
with a spacey Slime Kit on Friday, June 14. Pick up a kit with the necessary
ingredients and take it home to make at a time good for you. Supplies are
limited.
Join us for the Friday Afternoon movie on June 14 at
1:00 P.M. when we go into the future with Wall-E. Anyone can join us for this
Pixar classic. Make sure to register ahead of time.
Come for an Adult Craft Night on Monday, June 17 at
6:30 P.M. when we make Mosquito Repellant Jar Candles. Using some fruit, herbs,
essential oil inside a mason jar will help keep those nasty insects away and
you can see how to make your own. Space is limited so please sign up right
away. There is no fee for this program, all supplies are included.
Kids in 2nd through 4th Grades
are invited to join us when we make Sun Catchers on Tuesday, June 18 at 1:00
P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Using canning jar rings and dried flowers, we can create
something fun that catches the light. There is no fee for this program, all
supplies are included.
Come build a castle using our Legos during our Open Lego Build on Thursday, June
20 between 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. We will have the Legos out so that anyone can
drop in to try to build a castle or a tall tower or anything your imagination
can dream up. No registration necessary, open to all ages.
Friday Take and Make kits features a Dragon Fire Kit
on Friday, June 21. Pick one up for your child with the necessary parts and
take it home to make at a time good for you. Supplies are limited.
Taste test the different ways you can make coffee on
Friday, June 21 at 1:30 P.M. Whether it is cold-brew, with a French press, or a
regular coffee-maker, teens and Adults can discover which type of coffee they
like best. Space is limited, register right away.
Saturday, June 22 will see a Medieval Faire come to
the Library Grounds. There will be games, crafts, and fun all around. We start
at 11:00 A.M. and end at 1:00 P.M.
Join us in the Peterson School House on Monday, June
24 at 11:00 A.M. when Ms. Faith will show us what school was like for children
in the Pioneer Era. Children off all ages are invited to come, just like
schoolhouses across the prairie where our great-grandparents and
great-great-grandparents went to school.
Writer's
Group will be held on Monday, June 24 at 6:30 P.M. A
writer's group is a community of writers who come together to share their work,
provide feedback, and support each other in their writing endeavors. It can be
a great way to improve your writing skills, get inspiration, and connect with
other writers.
