Be a Part of the Giving Season at Limestone Township Library District

Be a Part of the Giving Season

at Limestone Township Library District

There is so much to see and do during the Christmas season. But Christmas is also a time to remember that we can be of help to others.

At Limestone Township Library District (LTLD), we have two different opportunities to give.

The first is our Annual Mitten Tree. Set up in our hallway, the multi-color lighted tree awaits donations of mittens, hats, and scarves. In years past the tree has been heavy with donations by the end of the Christmas season with hats as tree toppers and scarves as garland.

You can bring your donations to the front desk or place them on the tree yourself. All donations will be given to the Herscher School District for those in need of winter wear to keep fingers and noses warm.

Secondly, LTLD has partnered with the Salvation Army of Kankakee to be a drop-off point for their Christmas Food and Toy Drive. This will help families as the Christmas season approaches.

The blue barrel is for canned and non-perishable food items. The black barrel is for new and unwrapped toys. You can place your donations directly in the barrels. Should we fill the barrels, Salvation Army will gladly pick them up and bring us new barrels to fill. Help us fill them up!

Check out our upcoming programs. To register for any program, call 815-939-1696 or see us at the front desk.
